I’ve been working on this book for a little over a year. It began with a silly skit to explain how social media works on TikTok, playing “Queen Nona” a Queen’s highly functioning kingdom within a motherboard, constantly hit with hacks and competition (yeah…I know ALOT about that).
I was on my way to Disney World with my family where we had to drive last minute, and I was struck with an idea of creating a backstory of who this Queen was of my little city of Nexis (which is a play off my real name, Alexis).
For starters, I don’t want to downplay my hard work. I’ve never seen an episode of Game of Thrones, so just releasing excerpts to my social media, people saw similar concepts of Nona with the stark white hair and running a kingdom and killing off her suitors (allegedly).
Nona is a black queen, with hair that became stark white due to programming out elements of her essence in order for her to rule. Yuri is a hacker who hacked the wrong kingdom, basically. He steals the source code of the Queen and basically offers it back to her when she offers a fee of $50K.
I’m sharing my favorite chapter Roses because I love how Yuri and Nona finally speak one on one without constraints or witnesses.
